The short version: the only personal information we ask for is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter or contact us. We never sell it.
Information we collect
Bridge Playbook is an educational content site. You can read every guide without giving us any personal information. We only collect data in two situations:
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store the email address you provide.
- Contact: if you message us, we receive the name, email and message you send.
How we use your information
We use your email only for the purpose you gave it to us: to send the newsletter you signed up for, or to reply to your enquiry. We do not use it for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Our newsletter is stored and sent with MailerLite, an EU-based email service that processes your email address on our behalf and only under our instructions. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. A copy of your email address is also kept in a private file on our own web hosting account, so that your sign-up is never lost. Ask us at any time and we will delete it.
Cookies and analytics
We only set analytics and marketing cookies if you agree. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google’s certified consent tool asks for your choice on your first visit. You can change or withdraw it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Outside these regions, analytics and advertising cookies are on by default and you can block them in your browser settings. In Switzerland, where the law does not require prior consent for analytics, Google Analytics is on by default and you can refuse it in the consent tool.

Whether you have already signed up for our free PDFs (bp_lead) is saved in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. - Analytics (only with your consent): we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to see which guides are read most. With your consent it sets the cookies
_gaand_ga_*, which last up to 2 years. We keep analytics data for 14 months. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). - Marketing (only with your consent): we use Google AdSense to show ads. With your consent, Google and its advertising partners use cookies to measure ads and, if you agree, to personalise them. The consent tool lists these partners and lets you choose. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
If you refuse: we use Google Consent Mode. Google Analytics then sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Your browser still sends Google a simple, cookie-free signal that a page was viewed, with basic details such as the page, the time and the browser type. Your IP address is used for the connection but is not stored by Google Analytics. Google uses these signals to estimate total visitor numbers; they cannot be used to recognise you on a later visit. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in counting visits (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cloudflare Web Analytics: we also count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
Fonts: our fonts are hosted on our own server, so no data is sent to Google Fonts.
Transfers outside Europe: Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Both are certified under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of protection.
You can also block cookies in your browser settings at any time without losing access to any guide.
Third-party links
Our guides and platform reviews link to external bridge sites and apps. Once you follow a link to another site, this policy no longer applies: please read that site’s own privacy policy.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email. You may also ask us to show you, correct, or permanently delete any personal information we hold about you: just get in touch and we will action it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we will change the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
